What Does It Take To Have a “Post-Worthy” Photo

I can give you a technical definition of what photography is, but I’d rather tell you how I understand it. I’d say that it’s freezing that “oooohh” or wow moment in a frame and yet making it look like it’s so alive and involving the viewer in the image. Surely it’s easy to spot those moments and perhaps capturing it might be easy too, but making it look as a “post-worthy” photo would be another story. And this article is what it’s about.

Light Painting

In cases that you want to have greater control on the painting process, you can always hang the LED lights used to "draw or paint" in the ceiling then position the camera on the floor and make the LED lights swing or move in circular motion by pulling the string attached to the LED lights. You can be more creative by drawing shapes or even smileys. This is a very enjoyable activity that you should try with your friends or even with your clients.

High Dynamic Range (HDR) Imaging

Photos that are too captivating because of its intense and unique colors is how I describe a High Dynamic Range (HDR) photo . But technically, it is a set of techniques that involves image processing computer graphics and of course photography. Luminance is intense in these kinds of photos. Wikipedia states that it allows lightest and darkest areas of an image. It involves combination of multiple photographs with different exposures. It is done through particular computer programs. Merging of photos are considered as Low Dynamic Range or Standard Dynamic Range photos. If you want to lessen the overall contrast to achieve HRD images on devices with lower dynamic range, apply Tone-mapping techniques. This will result to images with exaggerated local contrast that provide an artistic appeal.

Autumn Photography

Autumn is probably one of the most colorful seasons, aside from summer. The leaves that dramatically fall from trees are really picturesque. The way it is scattered on ground creates great contrasts with the other objects in the area. Though it may seem to take pictures of it, results are not as often as we want it to be. This is because there are many factors that affect and must be considered in Autumn photography. Different colors, weather, existing light, etc are the factors one should take note of when shooting photos. The effect of the light on the colors is a significant factor that either makes it vibrant or dull looking or soft.

Capturing Stunning Images of Fireworks Display

The key to capturing images of fireworks is having a steady shot. Even the slightest movement can ruin the photo and make it blurry or jagged. To get a still shot, mount your camera on a tripod. However, even if the camera is already mounted on a steady tripod movement can still occur once you click the shutter release button. Using a camera with remote release will guarantee that you are taking still shots for fireworks photography.

Moreover, use camera lenses with the appropriate focal length. If you are confused on which lenses to use and on the focal length requirements, include in your list of equipment to bring different lenses including zoom lenses so you can choose the one that gives the best optical quality.
